How do I set up digital download sales?

With ShootProof, you can sell two types of digitals: ShootProof-Fulfilled digitals and Self-Fulfilled digitals.

ShootProof-Fulfilled Digitals

Save time when you sell ShootProof-Fulfilled digitals! We automatically send ShootProof-Fulfilled digitals to your client as soon as they pay for their order.

You can offer resized digitals and ShootProof automatically resizes the images for you - no need to upload multiple copies of the same image.

When your clients purchase ShootProof-Fulfilled digitals, any watermarks applied in ShootProof are removed before the files are sent. 

Print releases can be added for ShootProof-fulled digitals in your Gallery Settings, under Shopping Cart. The downloadable release will be included in the email containing the purchased images.

Use ShootProof-fulfilled Digitals in conjunction with Free Digital Rules to set up an easy workflow for providing some digital files for free while taking advantage of the opportunity to upsell additional files for optimal gallery sales.

Please Note: ShootProof-Fulfilled digitals are sent to the client as soon as they pay for their order, so there is no way to edit or replace the file before they are sent. The client will receive the file that was in the gallery at the time of purchase. If you need to make edits to files before they are sent, you will need to set up Self-Fulfilled digitals in the price sheet. 

Set Up ShootProof-Fulfilled Digitals

  1. Go to Store > Price Sheets

  2. Click on the Price Sheet you'd like to use (or create a new one)
  3. Click on the Digitals category
  4. Toggle on the types of Full Resolution* digital downloads you'd like to sell
     
    • Individual Photos lets clients purchase single photos
    • All Photos in an Album lets clients buy all the photos in an album by adding this item to their cart
    • All Photos in the Gallery lets clients buy all of the photos in the gallery with one click

  5. Set a price for each type of digital download you've chosen to sell

You can also offer custom-sized ShootProof-fulfilled digitals. ShootProof will automatically resize the images being sent to your client.

To add custom-sized digitals in the Digitals category:

  1. Click Add Products and select Add ShootProof-Fulfilled

  2. Name your digital download and set the number of pixels each file should be on the longest side 

  3. Toggle on the types of digital downloads you'd like to sell (individual photos, all photos in an Album, or all photos in a Gallery) and set a price for each type
  4. Apply

If you need to change the name of an item or add a description, click the blue Edit button (the pencil) in the right corner. Remember that the item name is client-facing, so give it a descriptive name your client will understand.

Receiving ShootProof-Fulfilled Digitals

When your client places an order containing ShootProof-fulfilled digitals, they first receive a confirmation email for the entire order. ShootProof-fulfilled digitals are then bundled into a zip file and emailed to your client shortly after. 

Remind your clients to open the zip file on a computer - not a mobile device, as most are not compatible with zip files.

Self-Fulfilled Digitals

If you need time to edit your photos or want to send files at a later time, you will need to set up the Self-Fulfilled Digitals option instead. With this option, you will need to send those files to the client when you are ready. 

Setting Up Self-Fulfilled Digitals

  1. Go to Store > Price Sheets

  2. Click on the Price Sheet you'd like to use (or create a new one)
  3. Click on the Digitals category

  4. Click the Add Self-Fulfilled Item button

  5. Name your digital downloads and set a price

Please Note: ShootProof does not deliver these files to your client. Items in this category will need to be delivered to your client outside of ShootProof.
