How do I link a contract to an invoice and send them to my client?

Send documents to your clients quickly and easily by linking them together! Your client receives one email and is walked through the flow of reading and signing the contract and then paying their invoice (or the first installment on their invoice).

Documents can only be linked when they share the same Linked Contact and are unsigned (Contracts) and unpaid (Invoices).  At this time, you can link one invoice to one contract.

You can make a Documents Ready email template to use when sending your client the linked contract and invoice. 

Link a contract to an invoice when both are already created

1. Go to Studio > Invoices > Actions > Link Contract or to  Studio > Contracts > Actions > Link Invoice

2. Select the contract/invoice you’d like to link

3. Click Link Contract or Link Invoice

4. Once they are linked, click the Send Documents button in the top right of the page



Link a contract to an invoice when the invoice is not yet created

1. Go to Studio > Contracts > Actions > Link Invoice

2. Click Create and Link a New Invoice

3. Choose Brand new invoice or With a template you’ve saved

4. Enter the details of the Invoice (the Linked Contact is already selected)

5. Click Save and Link Invoice

6. Once they are linked, click the Send Documents button in the top right of the page



Link an invoice to a contract when the contract is not yet created

1. Go to Studio > Invoices > Actions > Link Contract

2. Click Create and Link a New Contract

3. Choose the type of contract you’d like to create

4. Name the contract and edit its details (the Linked Contact is already selected)

5. Click Save and Link Contract

6. Once they are linked, click the Send Documents button in the top right of the page



Unlink a contract and an invoice

1. Click the Actions for the invoice or contract

2. Select Remove Link to Contract/Invoice

3. Click Unlink Contract/Invoice

When you unlink the two documents, your client will no longer be able to view the contract and invoice together and you will not be able to send one email to the client containing both documents.
