Announce a sale using Email Campaigns

  • Updated

Have you ever opened an email only to forget about it right after? ‍We’re all guilty of it! This workflow helps you set up an email series with multiple reminders to incentivize clients to purchase.

Date-based email campaigns take about 15 minutes to create and the work you do now will pay off later.

First, make a plan. Ask yourself a few questions, like:

  • What kind of sale or discount do I want to offer my clients?
  • What will I say in my emails?
  • When should the emails be sent?
  • Which galleries and visitors will I target?

Once you have those questions answered, it's time to create!

For this example, you'll offer an automatic 20% group discount for all print products and an automatic cart discount for free shipping on orders over $100. You'll email all visitors to our active galleries, notifying them of the sale.

If you're using our Holiday Email Campaign, which includes pre-written email templates, please be aware that the dates included when you create the campaign are the original sales dates suggested by our lab partners. They can be updated by clicking on them.

1. Build your discounts

To create both discounts, go to Store > Price Sheets. Decide which price sheets you want to add the discounts to. Depending on the galleries you're targeting, you'll want to create a discount in each of your price sheets to ensure the discount is enabled in the gallery.

Note: Changing price sheets on a gallery will wipe out visitors’ saved cart items, so keep existing price sheets if possible.

Once you choose the price sheet(s), select Discounts > Add New Discount to create the two discounts.

Remember to ensure that your profit margins are high enough to offer both discounts!

2. Build your email templates

If you are going to use our Holiday Email Campaign you can skip down to step 3.

  • Go to Studio > Email > Templates > New Template

  • Name your template > Create

  • Create the email content (example below)
    • Template-type: Email Gallery Link
    • Email Subject: Enjoy 10% off your gallery for a limited time!
    • Headline: Ready, Set, SHOP!
    • Button Text: Get Started!
    • Email Body: Tell your clients about the sale, how long it lasts, and any other important information about the gallery. If the gallery has a password, be sure to include the password variable. If some of your galleries have passwords and some don’t, you might include a note saying “if your gallery doesn’t have a password, don’t fret! Just enter your email and you can access the gallery.”

Repeat the steps above to create multiple emails to send on different dates leading up to the end of the sale.

3. Build your email campaign

If using our Holiday Email Campaign, click the ShootProof Email Campaign option and select Holiday Email Campaign.

  • Once you’ve set up the template, go to the Campaigns tab

  • Select New Email Campaign > Custom Date-Based Email Campaign

  • Now apply settings for this specific campaign

    • Email Template: Choose the first email template that you created

  • Remember the question “which galleries will I target?” This step is where you ensure all of the galleries you wish to target are Active.

  • Go to Galleries > All Galleries

  • Reactivate any inactive galleries and unarchive any archived galleries

    • To reactivate inactive galleries in bulk, select the Inactive filter box > Select ALL > Actions > Bulk Actions. On that page, go to the Status drop-down menu > Active
